GTT

We made a quick excursion to Austin to visit Billings' grandmother for an afternoon and also stopped for a little quick TexMex at Guero's. His restriction to liquid foods kept him from getting into anything good but I'm pretty sure he liked the smell. Over at Grandma's House things were proper...a little Weather Channel, a plate of fried chicken, and the cat tormenting a mouse in the yard for about an hour.

First Retouched Photo

A milestone for any child.
He's so vain, he probably thinks you're reading about him.

Slings, Arrows, etc.

The young master awoke this morning due to dampness of the drawers, but after changing it was apparent that his wails were also a lament on his entrapment in the human condition. This appeared to be the time for Hamlet's soliloquy from the beginning of Act III. At first his eyes widened, struck by the resonance of the words with his own thoughts. On the second reading he was propelled into a deep rest, comforted with the knowledge that although he may suffer it will not be alone...and he also had a little blowout.

The First Days Are the Hardest Days

A haiku:
Five days of minutes,
Onezie buttons, snaps, blankets,
Kid goat and two crabs.

Act I, Scene One

Billings Guiteau Key arrived on the scene at 3:49 am, a few days ahead of the official schedule but none too early for us. It is clear now why people say you can't imagine what it's like or really understand how crazy a day it is when a baby is born.

The little dude is 7lb 5oz, 21 inches long, and has a nice 14 inch circumference dome. Now we nap.
