Mas Tacos, Por Favor
We made a foray down the street to the Taco Truck (Tacobago, actually) and some patio time at Imogene+Willie's. For our faithful followers, sorry for the big break in postings. We'll try to pick up the pace a little bit. For the statisticians, I think Billings is somewhere in the low twenties, poundwise.

Hemos Visto a la Playa
Billings got a hankering for some vacation from his exhausting schedule of eating and sleeping so we took a little trip to Sayulita, Mexico for a week of beach time and a wonderful wedding for our friends Ginger and Matt. It was really a time that couldn't be beat, Billings loved meeting everyone and tolerated the heat pretty well for someone who had never seen anything over 65 F. Good times were had by all, here's the evidence (link fixed, I think).

This Little Piggy...
...almost didn't make it to see next week. Laura noticed that one of Billings' toes was looking a little puffy this morning. On closer inspection, a long hair had gotten wound around it and been there long enough to cut into his ever-growing toe.
It's already looking better after pulling the hair off this morning so we won't have to explain how we let one of our child's toes fall off.

Aunt Nancy and Uncle Kirk in Town
Billings was treated to a visit from his Aunt and Uncle up from ATL, heart of the dirty South. You can see here that he was sad to see them go today. It's been a big week with some good weight gain, more smiles here and there, and tears that come out when he cries...IF he cries, and he never would (see photo).

GTT
We made a quick excursion to Austin to visit Billings' grandmother for an afternoon and also stopped for a little quick TexMex at Guero's. His restriction to liquid foods kept him from getting into anything good but I'm pretty sure he liked the smell. Over at Grandma's House things were proper...a little Weather Channel, a plate of fried chicken, and the cat tormenting a mouse in the yard for about an hour.

Slings, Arrows, etc.
The young master awoke this morning due to dampness of the drawers, but after changing it was apparent that his wails were also a lament on his entrapment in the human condition. This appeared to be the time for Hamlet's soliloquy from the beginning of Act III. At first his eyes widened, struck by the resonance of the words with his own thoughts. On the second reading he was propelled into a deep rest, comforted with the knowledge that although he may suffer it will not be alone...and he also had a little blowout.

Act I, Scene One
Billings Guiteau Key arrived on the scene at 3:49 am, a few days ahead of the official schedule but none too early for us. It is clear now why people say you can't imagine what it's like or really understand how crazy a day it is when a baby is born.
The little dude is 7lb 5oz, 21 inches long, and has a nice 14 inch circumference dome. Now we nap.
